Tel Soundscapes

Tels, revealed on back of Ferus tiles, show levels of Rock, Vegetation, and Water.

These give insights to the inner workings of the Fera and connect it with other Ferus.

  • Occasionally our conscious moods will take a pause and we will find ourselves absorbed in one overpowering instinctual state. These “Tel” experiences (pleasant or unpleasant) can remind us quickly that we are physical beings utterly beholden to our primitive instincts. We experience these moments less like an emotion and more like an ever present, environmental circumstance.

One big indicator that we are entering a Tel Experience is that whatever is happening feels like it has ALWAYS been that way and will NEVER change.

In FERUS TEL each Tel Experience is displayed in the form of a unique graphic image and assigned its own signature set of vocalizations.

These have been arranged to evoke:

    • Fear (the head instinct to flee),

    • Rage (the gut instinct to fight), and

    • Shame (the heart instinct to freeze)

We experience variations in these instincts as sensations more than as feelings. They strike us to the core and seem to dictate our living habitat.

We also have a range of tolerance for these sensations which dictate our body’s reactions and give color to the experience.

    • Overwhelmed - the experience of being mindlessly controlled by the sensations.

    • Reactive - the experience of awareness of the sensations.

    • Rejecting - the experience of resisting the sensations.

    • Accepting - the experience of allowing and staying in the flow of the sensations.

    • Resolved - the experience of having no present sensation, only memories of it.
